NoNot who showed up after I had gone to bed managed to set up his large Taj Mahal camp near my camp without waking me up. I got a late start on this hike the next morning due to hanging around camp waiting for NoNot to get up so I could say "Hi". The plan was to hike from camp to Perkins Tank to check it out and then explore the surrounding area. I was expecting another muddy stock pond but Perkins Tank turned out to be a real gem with clear water and tall stands of reeds and cattails along the bank. Rain clouds were starting to threaten as I left the tank so I looped around Indian Hill and headed back to camp for a lazy afternoon interrupted by the horses sneaking inside the rope corral NoNot had strung around his camp and a couple of Forest Service guys stopping by to return the Camp Chumley sign they had taken down that morning. |
