Mixing up my weekly run which is usually Walker Road & Senator Highway...yesterday and last week decided creating a new route. This path incoporates a portion of Deandra Drail #285 (Mount Union Trail) and a drive by of the north terminate of the Yankee Doodle Trail #284 where it "T" intersects with Forest Road 9404J.

This route will answer some questions with the first Right fork 60' from the Mt. Union trailhead and the Left fork further up (right goes up Union).

The right fork about 1/4 mile up is where we used to have our long gun range until recently YCSO suggested a much better spot for us. Had never been past this first 1/4 mile... it's trailed up an extra quarter mile with a open area with fire ring, an unknown abandoned mine filled with water a beat up holy car.

I am sure that with the love of bush wacking the path continues and will save for a later date.

The LEFT fork further up #285 is a beautiful ATV trail which is actually a great hiking trail. This would be an ideal snow shoeing path. This road, path or trail, eventually "T" intersects back onto Walker Road. there is a gate here and on the gate is noted as "Pristine Pines Road". Your not trespassing, it is NOT private property even though the gate says otherwise (there is some private property that accesses off this road, but it not "their" road.

I had always wanted to run down 9404J, I've been back to where Knapp Gulch intersects with a couple different routes for a Davis bush wack. My brother has taken this many times as it connects up to Snow Drift Mine Road and Big Bug Mesa Road. This is another great easy peasy hiking trail, ATV road, Equestrian, or connector for the Yankee Doodle Trail. Up and back from Walker Road is 3 miles round trip on 9404J. Ignore the Private Property signs on this road. The "9404J" sign was removed/stolen and several private property/private drive signs were posted. I get it. Some of my neighbors are a can short of six pack.
