I really enjoyed this hike. Been wanting to check out the conditions of this area and the trails post Juniper fire so figured this would be a good time, at almost the 2 year mark. IMO, as a hiker, the recovery of the trails we hiked, and the areas we viewed, looks very promising. Some charred areas but as a whole the trail conditions were very good with the exception of one area about 2.3 miles on the Rim Trail where the low, and thorny vegetation has made the trail finding very difficult. If you look at my route you will see where we were back and forth trying to locate the trail and finally just had to push through the thicket until we were able to clear the clogged area. Only saw 2 other hikers the entire day so solitude was great. Lots of bear scat on all the trails hiked. Wildlife seen included 1 dead skunk and 3 deer.
