Two days with boyfriend around Payson/Heber/Overguard for combination of duck hunting, fishing, and red maple hunting. Successful in 2 of 3 of those plans. Stayed in a little cabin Christopher Creek instead of usual camping. Bird dog Ranger dun good retrieving three blue wing teal ducks. Early in that season. Saw a tarantula crossing road, stopped at a bunch of abandoned cabins, and on Highline Trail spent a while chasing/catching/photographing a rare alligator lizard. Boyfriend is a freelance photographer and writer for nature magazines - so he was all in getting good close up pics of the lizard. I got my red maple fix slightly off trail - 10 to 14 days before peak here. Overall these two days hit all my spots just right. #HappyFallYall
