This was somehow my first time up this canyon. Apparently, I have been missing out.

I started from the Broadway Trailhead at 7:30 in the morning. There were two parking spots left when I started. It was an absolute gorgeous desert morning and a pleasant stroll to the Canyon. Tough to beat that stretch of Sonoran desert, which I found myself appreciating even more when I thought about how much desert was lost to fire in recent years out there. The going up canyon was your standard boulder hop. I came across running water at nearly four miles on the dot form the trailhead and it was pretty much stunning from there. A spectacular set of falls that is enhanced by traces of those who came before us. This area was no doubt a special place for the early inhabitants of the Superstition Mountains and a millennium or more later its main attraction, water, is still drawing in visitors.
