| no partners | | The racing team was a bust so I headed out on my own at a sensible pace.
Piestewa was uneventful. Road to Kiwanis was closed for a biking event. Decided on a Holbert - Kiwanis loop.
Crew of workers midway up Holbert evaluating what would take a day's work since they can't use dynamite. There is absolutely nothing in need of attention on this trail but I kept my mouth shut out of respect.
Brittlebush was the most showy heading up. A berber of Scorpionweed and 2.8 billion Emory's Rock Daisies are thriving among fiddleneck and Asian mustard.
Wretched sewer drift at the Holbert restrooms. Same tijuana blanket/jewelry market that's been going on for years. My fav upper Holbert past the road is a jungle of weeds in areas.
Smattering pockets, hillsides and coves of poppies on the National Trail.
Bring a machete for lower Kiwanis, the weeds are out of control.
Hundreds of screaming fast bikers wisping through Piedras Grandes, no wushing tortoises.
Danza is the boss but Judith is a light show of poppies. |
