| no partners | | I decided to go on another hike today in the beautiful, rugged, mysterious, and underrated Goldfield Mountains. Tracie the Intrepid was not available today, so I did this one solo.
I drove in through the Bulldog Canyon Gate (I have the passcode) in AJ and drove to the Dome Mountain TH. From there I hike up to 5 peaks: in sequence I went to Dome Mountain, Peak 3269, Peak 3239, Panorama Peak, and Peak 3192. I also went by the Western Camouflage Wildlife Watering Tanks, which are on the way from Dome Mountain to Panorama Peak.
Dome Mountain and Panorama Peak are the 2 highest peaks in the Goldfields, and I had been to them 3 times previously; the other 3 numbered peaks were virgin territory for me though.
There was a lot of off-trail hiking on this trek, but I took my time and it was not too onerous. The only thing that I would have done differently was to head south instead of north when I descended from Peak 3192 -- that would have saved some distance and effort.
It was another great day to be outside in AZ! |
