| no partners | | I decided to head out to this area and do a hike, which is under a Bald Eagle Nest closure beginning on December 1.
We started and ended the hike at the North Bulldog Canyon Gate at Blue Point, on Bush Highway. The gate was open when I got there, and this time I closed it, even though I did not drive through it.
We walked about 3 miles near the Salt River until we got below Sunrise Arch. There was some fog on the river early in the morning, and there was a good bit of snow on Four Peaks, Mount Ord, and Mazzy Peak.
We got on Sunrise Arch, and headed up to the Goldfield High Country via a chute east of the Arch -- it was fun going up through the chute. Once at the High Country, we took a walk over to the Bulldog Cliffs High Point -- there are some really nice views there.
Then we made our way over to Precarious Arch and Delicate Arch, which I had been to a few times. I had intended to go to Peak 3097, but one of the people with me ran over a bolt just before pulling into the parking lot, and his tire was as flat as a pancake. So I did not want to be out there too long, so instead of going to Peak 3097, we descended Gateway Canyon and made our way back to the TH.
It was another nice day in the Goldfields! |
