Route Scout GPS Route Recorded on Route Scout View
It's just so darn cold out there but this afternoon I needed to get out and practice some hiking. For the first time in quite awhile, the route I envisioned doing I actually did. I started from 38th St and headed up to Perl Charles Trail to hook up with the Irregular Link C. On the way I could first see the snow on the mountains to the east and then on the mountains above Cave Creek. I didn't have my regular camera so I did my best to document it using Kemosabe.

They sure did a nice job laying out that trail as it's pretty easy getting up it with the occasional flat areas. And going up the 304? was not bad either. They laid nice stepping stones and lots of rock. Sadly, with all this rain, I suspect the trail crews are going to be busy in our local hiking parks. There were several issues my entire route.

I hit the intersection with 1A and took that to get me back to the other side of the mountains. There were all sorts of people out today and lots of leashless dogs, lots of bike riders. There is quite a bit of variety of flora as well to keep one entertained. It's interesting how sometimes it seems so different every time I hike these trails.

I sure do like hiking in this preserve because you can mix it up so much depending on how you feel. Today, a good day for me altho I had to stop and re-tie these new shoes a few times to try and get them to fit just right... you know, Tibberlocks.

As this decade closes, I wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year. I know mine will be :) .

Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
