Route Scout Route Recorded  on Route Scout Popup | MapDEX
With the end of the world upon us and everybody and their Mother seems to be outdoors hiking, I decided to hit this awesome hike this morning. I was rewarded with complete solitude and amazing views.

I had the official Hikearizona gps loaded in Route Scout, but quickly determined that there’s really not a trail with this one. So, I opted to make my own trail see as much of cliff side views as possible.

With all the rains out there lately, the hillsides looked as green as Ireland. So much growth out there. This hike did not present any difficult obstacles except for a little scurrying near the end to get to the little tuft outcrop.

Driving up I noticed that Hwy is now part of the Tour du France and I believe I was in the middle of Tonto National Forest stage. I don’t mind these bikers too much, only when they start blocking traffic or acting like they own the road.

The views of Fish Creek Canyon are the draw for this one. So beautiful. The creek was still flowing brown and strong as well. I would like to come up here again in the later afternoon with some better light or some clouds to offset the cliffs a little. But, even with full on sun and no clouds, this place is really beautiful.

A few Hedgehog blooms going and the brittlebush was blooming very nicely at the start and along the cliffs at the end.

There were a couple of buzzards following me for a while at the end of the cliffs. They landed and spread out their wings. I guess I look like a sure thing meal or something with these birds, I always get interest from them when I hike. Ha ha

The drive back was depressing. The amount of traffic on Hwy 88 was shocking. I had to wait about 10 minutes at the first bridge near the marina before someone with manners stopped and let the backlog of cars piled up take a turn. It was even worse when I approached First Water Road. So many people! The road was full, lined with cars as far as I could see. So many, that they spilled out onto the 88. The line to get to Lost Dutchman as crazy too.
