| no partners | | The Sentinel exit off I-8 is the one just before Dateland - not much there. But it's also the name given to the large volcanic area located to the north which the Gila River flows through (or used to anyway). The river cut through the plain, providing water for ancient natives and left fine basalt cliffs they decorated. I've been out to most of the well known spots but today I thought I'd just walk along (and in) "a tributary" which meets up with the Gila just south of the "town" of Agua Caliente.
Always enjoy walking around out there...I never know what I might find. Today it was a few petroglyphs, a stone circle, a rattlesnake, and some weather balloon debris. Good enough. |
