The trail quickly goes up about 400', soon connnecting with a powerline. Follow the powerline for a bit and then keep following the yellow hash marks on the trees. After about 2 miles, the trail seemed to stay on powerlines more often than it was an actual trail. One annoying part was where it dropped down to a local road and follows the asphalted road for about 0.3 miles. This was nice as a contrast to the heat in Phx right now. Most of the hike was in the shade (and mud) and all of it was very green. The humidity was a bit to deal with. Once you start to sweat, it never evaporates from your clothes. After 2 hours, I was ready to finish and go back home and change. |
