| no partners | | Cooler than normal temps allowed us to slip in another hike in the Pinal Mountains so we decided to check out the Kellner Canyon Trail and Loop back on Icehouse and Telephone.
Kellner Canyon Trail is in great shape. Some areas of overgrowth but not bad at all. I'd actually say it was in the best shape out of the three trails we hiked.
Icehouse Trail was nice, although there was more than normal deadfall that had to be hiked over or around. Ryan took a spill going around one area when he tripped over some hidden barbed wire.
Telephone Trail was a little overgrown where it branches off Icehouse but improves as you descend down. It is a great alternative to hiking the road to and from Icehouse Canyon.
Great temps, actually cold at the top, and a great hike. At only 64 miles from house to trailhead this area is a favorite of mine. |
