Gold Ridge Trail
AKA Switchbacks are for Sissy's. Ryan led the charge up so we made pretty good time. Saw a herd of elk just past South Fork Tank. Trail was is great shape, no remaining patches of snow.
South Fork Trail
We hiked down to the creek and stopped for an early lunch. Two and a half hours to this point. I led the navigation down the South Fork Trail. Overall not to bad. Some deadfall to go around or over, some steep spots with a thin trail tread, but overall, considering your hiking in a creekbed, not too bad. Three hours back to the car from where we had lunch.
Great to good trail conditions, excellent weather, flowing water, what else could a AZ hiker ask for |
