| no partners | | Decided to finally do this one. I opted for a night hike since I'm not real big on city hiking, and its to hot to hike in the day in Phoenix.
Started 7:20pm and finished up at 3:00am. Figured I could avoid crowds, and did. Only saw two others in the first mile of the trail, then it was free of people.
Wife said it was to hot, even at night to do this hike, so I did it by myself. Took a little extra water just in case...
Unfortunately, my wife was right, it was to hot. Just about at the towers, I was feeling tired, and started to meter my water usage since I could tell I did not have enough for this trip. Turns out 20 degrees hotter, day or night makes a big difference on water consumption.. I barely dragged my wimpy self through the hike.
Sometimes I surprise myself, I've hiked quite a bit now, but still capable of making some real bone-headed mistakes. Anyhow, did get through it and got some decent night photos. |
