| no partners | | Had unfinished business on this route, last time on Pyramid and National had intended to make this loop CCW taking Busera to return to the parking lot.
My impromptu hiking partner ,we separated at Goat Hill, had me doubting there was a signed junction for Busera. That day I decided to bail out out on one of the steep trails ,among the visible spider web of trails, down to the ranch ruins, probably was the one known as eliminator because it tried to eliminate me with steep loose rocks. Today I persisted down National and verified the sign exists about shoulder high ,as described by Linda Ann, directional stickers on it are for National. Turned out to be perfect weather for this hike partly cloudy and cool. Raining on leaving home and viewing eastward toward the Superstitions appeared it continued most of the morning . Wildflowers were present on the upper Pyramid and National but the poppies were fluted either from the rain or cooler weather frustrating the bees and picture taking, the hedgehogs however are erupting with magenta blossoms. Saw no goats or other wildlife today, the parking lot had about 10 cars when I arrived, met 3 or 4 hikers coming down Pyramid and 1 along National near Ranger and 3 or 4 more before Busera junction , most other hikers encountered were on the last mile or so of Busera by now the parking lot was full too.. Enjoyed this loop today but wouldn’t want to try it in warmer weather, probably the most rooftops you can count on a hike. |
