| no partners | | Put together Rock Peak Wash Trail, Malpais Trail, and parts of San Tan Trail for a 8.1 mile loop starting at the Rock Peak trailhead.
Night Hike! - The Constellations
Arrived at about 1am and started hike. Decided to use the Canon EF 28-300mm instead of the Rokinon fish eye lens. The Rokion is a fast lens at about f2. Comparing this night hike photos with last one, you can see the difference. the Rokion lens is fixed focal length, while the canon can go from 28-300mm for a good zoom. Noticed the canon seems to work pretty well for representing what you typically will see in the night sky, but doesn't capture the scenery very well. A number of constellations were place well in relation to the landscape, so I decide to focus on them.
Moon didn't rise till just before dawn, so this was a darker hike than my typical night hikes that I generally do around the full moon.
Didn't see a single person the whole hike, but that shouldn't be to suppressing 
Pretty sure I spotted an Arizona Grey fox just before getting to the Trailhead parking. Not much bigger than a large cat with a tail just about as long as the rest of it's body. |
