Partial being the key word here. I'd no more than Parked and it started raining there from one dark cloud above me. I waited it out and when it finally stopped, I hit the trail with the thought of possibly doing Willow Springs Canyon. Well, I made it to the bottom of the spillway and the rain started back up again with some thunder to go along with it. By the time I got back to the car, it was pouring. Pretty much called it a day as the rain followed me as I headed down the hill. It stopped before just before the 260 TH and you could definitely feel the temp difference right away.
Got dinner in Payson and then headed towards the barn. One detour along the way for a sunset storm, but nothing to get too excited about.
It was a decent day altogether and although I didn't get more hiking in, I certainly didn't mind the rain either and at one time 54 degrees felt pretty damn good. I'll take it and enjoy hiking more another day. |
