| partners | | I swear I really try to be an independent outdoorsy woman! However, thunderstorms and wildlife sightings (especially a fox) had me a bit nervous so I was very happy when @chumley let me crash his campsite. The sunset was a really nice treat and it was cold enough for long sleeves and pants! I was in my mood for a meadowy meander type hike and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Saw some pretty springs, checked out some interesting cabins and did the most mild off trail bushwhacking I’ve ever done. We saw no one except one guy who was out there working. It got a tad warm, but nothing unbearable although there was some mild whining by me on the final uphill. Got back to camp and took a hammock nap before heading back to the valley. Perfect mid week escape to clear the mind. I will note that they are doing a lot of work on rim road and if you’re passing through during this {in a sedan} it can be a bit tricky. Totally doable if you’re driving slow. |
