HTB only 19% whoo hoo, temp 71, nice breeze when hiking east-west.
I decided to throw in West Peak as I've never done that one. Got up the first hill by the owl saguaro relatively easily. Lots of hot air balloons about so I tried to get some pics with my new phone camera. I messed up some sort of setting so the quality was disappointing. I think I have it fixed back to the way I want now.

Headed down the west side hill in the shade so that was pleasant and then up to Cholla Saddle. From there you head west on the Western Vista Trail and up the peak. The 225 ft climb in a third mile went well. @writelots wants me to do that silly Six Peak Challenge so even though this isn't as big a peak as those six, I decided if she wants to drag me up, I should go ahead and do it. https://socialhiker.net/six-pack-peaks- ... C6QiKUCIck And for those of you that know me, bagging peaks is not my cup of tea that's for sure.
I hung out on top for a little bit taking pictures. The views are pretty decent and the air was the clearest I've seen it for awhile.

Headed back down and continued on my hike. Encountered someone who refused to say hi despite my 3 Good Mornings so you know, she got a new name from me  . I ended up tailing Eileen and Ed for the next couple miles as we rounded the corner and headed east up the hill. I actually got their names a little later in the hike. There were various hikers off and on for the rest of the hike, some bike riders; most everyone shared a Good Morning or Hello. Ed would canter ahead of Eileen several times; she explained he likes to get his heart rate up so he'll hike at a faster pace and then come back. I figured he was clearing the trail of snakes, ha!

I visited with Eileen for a bit and then ended up hiking ahead with Ed before parting company as he went back to join her. As I was getting close to heading down the last hill I was thinking how nice it will be when I can start this hike a little later so that I can have my 10AMish beer; before 10 just seems too early without the tomato juice.

The temp was 79 when I finished and 12% humidity.

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
