| no partners | | Still hard to believe it was cloud covered all day today so I made the decision to do my first late afternoon hike since last spring. As I got out of Tonto Jr I had a rhetorical conversation:
Self - you know it's overcast so what does that mean? No hat, no sunglasses.
Self - you do realize it's only 87? What?
Self - did you notice there is even a slight breeze that is actually blowing cool air? On my!
Self - you do see that there are two rather small orbs in the sky? that's nice too.
I feel good, ya! I got up all the little hills with relative ease and even added on an additional mile. And hopefully next time I can step up and hike the higher tier. Probably saw a dozen hikers. The skies seemed fairly clear as I could see a good distance in every direction. Guess I better enjoy this temp while I can as I see it's heating up again on the 1st... of November  .
So my first week of retirement went well with 3 good hikes and 3 gym classes at 3 different gyms including two in one day (Black Mountain hike in the AM and a class in the late afternoon). I'm lichen it 
(For my records, Watch - 1:14 time, 3.61 miles, 2.9 avg speed, 133 avg bpm (23m at 5, 32 at 4, 19 at 3), 514 calories (yeah, some to spare), 84.1 degrees and 27% humidity. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
