After finally managing to get around the Cave Creek/101 closure, finally made it the trail. Observed the orange sun on my drive. Lots of bikers along the way and at the TH.

Even more bikers on my route and lots of hikers too. This morning felt very much like a bike dodge course for a lot of the hike. As usual, not many hikers on that north side of Ridgeback/Sidewinder area. A couple different times I thot I could hear shooting or something.

Just birds, no lizards. Hike was beneath the smoke-filtered sun. Temp was in the high 70s, humidity started in the low 30s, ended in mid 20s. It was a good breath of fresh air that wasn't too hot. The breezes were awesome at the high point.
