AZT 21 section The section of the Pine Mountain AZT 21 trail we hiked was in great condition, clearly marked and areas seen showing recent clearing and maintenance.
Boulder Bob Cabin Trail to the site We last hiked this trail in 2014. The northeast side of Boulder Pass was spared from the fire so the faint trail up is getting overgrown and does require fighting through brush. Once at the pass looking southwest you see the effects of a hot burn area which allows for easier walking. The cabin site is easily spotted to the right of the trail. In addition to those two sites which we had see during our last trip here, we spotted several retaining walls, and unmarked spring in the area, a possible third cabin site with a mortared window at the end of one of the retaining walls, a large corral site, and what looked like an arrastra.
Retraced our tracks for the return. Great day on the trails. |
