Very easy trail to follow, and a cute little cave. From there, it was the steep climb up to West Boulder Saddle. At least the clouds hung around for the uphill climb and there was a nice breeze.
Headed across Dacite Mesa, skipping Robber’s Roost. From there, we headed down to Fremont Saddle. Much easier to follow that route when it’s not buried underneath snow like it was two months ago. From Fremont Saddle, we headed down Cave Trail. Once on Bluff Springs Trail, we took Don’s Trail over to Dutchman, and finished up on Dutchman.
Some light sprinkles for the last mile or so, but great weather today. Great loop, but it felt like more than eight miles. Only saw a handful of people today, but the parking lot was full when we finished, although not nearly as bad as the Wave Cave nightmare I drove past on my way out. |
