| no partners | | Needed some fresh air somewhat close by without a million people so I chose Adero Canyon. Last week my Dad was in town and chose Gateway loop and I had to hike alongside THREE DIFFERENT Bachelorette parties, so I have a little McDowell PTSD. Adero TH only had a few vehicles so I did a happy dance! About ~1 mile into my hike I spotted a Gila Monster right in the middle of the trail! He wasn’t moving and I was afraid he was dead! The trail is wide there so I was able to get by and saw him move a bit; little fella was all good! This totally made the hike worth it! I was rattled at twice from bushes right on the side of the {narrow} trails that form the Sonoran loop so my pace was a tad tentative given I was solo although... if anything happened I could have crawled to one of the million “helipads” there, lol! Things were uneventful the rest of the hike and I took a small side detour to hang out on a bench & watch sunset. There were a TON of flowers all over the parking lot! A few on the trail too, but the parking lot was full and beautiful! |

Wildflowers Observation Moderate LOTS of wildflowers in the parking lot area. A few blooms on the trail too! |
