| no partners | | I woke up and decided to hike Mount Ord once again -- the 7th time for me in 2021. This turned out to be the first time this year with no snow or slush on the trail -- in fact, the road is in summertime condition.
The terrain is getting a little more green, so there has been some regrowth after the Bush fire in 2020. There is a long way to go though.
On my way back down, just before getting back to FR 27 I met 4 hikers coming up FR 626. When I got back to the TH, the fenced gate was laying on the ground. Is it that hard to shut a gate? I of course shut it (since there was a sign saying to keep the gate shut), and hopefully the other group will do the same on their way back, but I wouldn't count on it. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated There were probably more wildflowers than I have seen so far this year, but that isn't saying much. There were quite a few western wallflowers between 4,000-4,400 feet, along with some other flowers at lower elevations. Western wallflowers easily won the wildflower derby today. |
