Last minute invite from the gecko. Been quite a few years since I hiked Ord.
First 5 miles has quite a bit a burn, but also regrowth coming in. Erosion was not as bad as I thought it might be. Top of the mountain is still very nice.
The sky was very hazy in all directions. No good long distance photo ops.
Saw a medium size hawk with white bands at the base of it's tail in flight. Sharp Shinned hawk? We also saw a deer and other smaller wildlife.
