| no partners | | I decided that today would be a good day to go hike up to Mount Ord again.
I got started about noon and never saw any other hikers. It sleeted a bit going up FR27, but the sleet didn't last too long. FR626 was a bit muddy in the usual places, but there was no snow on the road. There was some snow in some wooded areas on some of the north slopes below the summit; I could also see some snow on the north side of Four Peaks.
It was a nice day for a hike, although it felt more like winter than spring.
I saw a bit more green than on my last hike, and some regrowth from the fire continues. I think that there will even be a few wildflowers up there by mid to late April. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated I saw flowers on some poppies and a few gooding's verbena. Some New Mexico thistles are up, and I think there will be some flowers on them in the coming weeks |
