West Pinto part 2. The drive in to Miles Ranch is narrow but there was some grading done. The mud puddle down by the trailhead has been leveled so if it ever rains again the road should be clear. The first few miles of West Pinto have seen some attention since I was last there. The trail is marked with cairns and easy to follow through he burn area. The hills are starting to green but the blackened tree trunks remain. It was cool at the start but that quickly changed when we starting hiking in the sun. There was a nice breeze along the way that kept the heat off. The trail on the other side of the creek crossing about 3 miles in is a bit obscure and there is some overgrowth but still a nice hike. There was a good variety of wild flowers but not a large volume.
