East of Rio Rico again.
Hit the ridge beside Angus Tank and then down into the canyon that parallels Angus Canyon.
I’m taking advantage of the way the Cattle have cleared the ground right to the dirt in this area.
No real purpose or goal in mind today. Just needed to get out early while its cool and where there is no cell reception.
Some cool cliffs and a <2 foot crack in a rock face led to a small cave which contained and empty Mayo Jar. This seems to the obligatory find for each hike in S. Az.
7:45 left truck 73 degrees
9:55 back at truck at 84 degrees. 5 minutes before my check in time.
Stiff breeze with light clouds made for an easy go of it.
No path or road until I got to the tank.
There is a capped off well above the tank about 100 yards.

Took a break under a tree for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time was spent finding a way or checking out some cool rock formations. |
