This hike had been on my radar screen, so I decided to make it happen on my 3rd hike in Tucson over 3 days.

This is not an easy hike -- as far as I am concerned a 9 mile hike with 3,000 feet of elevation gain should be a mountain instead of a hill!

The trail was a bit overgrown, especially as you got further way from the TH. However, I never had any trouble following the trial.

I enjoyed the hike and thought that the views were nice. If I lived in the area I imagine that I would do this one a time or two each year.

There were hardly any other hikers on the trail, which was surprising given the close proximity to Tucson.

Wildflowers Observation Moderate
There were a good number of yellow wildflowers along the route, and they got better the higher the elevation.

The tank was about half full, but it was yucky looking. I would not want to filter it.
