| no partners | | This was my first visit to Browns Ranch area, I know right. I took my gravel bike and I'm glad I did. While the gravel bike was a bit under matched for a few sections of Pemberton 2 weeks ago, Axel Grease to Malapais to Hawksnest to some other trails were perfect for the gravel bike. In fact, a MTB with front suspension could almost be boring here, but the gravel bike with 50mm tires is a roller coaster. I was able to test out my Redshift Shok Stop stem https://redshiftsports.com/products/sho ... nsion-stem, now that the LBS (plug for Bike Masters in Tukee, only place I ever go) removed my hydraulic brakes and replaced with cable actuated semi-hydraulic brakes. Game changer!
Testing some new American Classic 50mm Krumbein gravel tires, tubeless of course. I've only put about 100 miles on them so it's too early to tell, but they were easy to install, held air and sealant immediately, and I pounded them at Pemberton with no issues on fist sized to larger rocks. I wish I lived closer to this area. |
