Bull Pass trail is in good shape going up, but a little scratchy going down. Water in Labarge creek the entire length of the Cavalry trail. Cavalry had it's share of day hikers in both directions but no other campers to be found. The deep pool I favor was full and water flowing was the perfect sleeping sound.
99.2% waxing gibbous was super bright! There is firewood everywhere along the creek, it's east pickens right now. My tent was iced up by 7AM, and the sun doesn't clear the mountain top at my campsite until almost 9:30am this time of year. Nothing like a nice morning fire. Plenty of people along Boulder canyon on the hike out. Lots of people coming down 2nd water too. |
