| no partners | | My last hike of 2021. It's been another odd year for reasons we all know. Let's hope 2022 is an improvement over the last two!
I love the views from Top Hat and decided to drive out via the Road 1356. That's always rougher than I remember. I made to the base of the hill and started up.
I went to the arch/window first and then ascended to the eastern side of the formation. The clouds made for dramatic views and the sunshine would pop out every once it a while. It was shining on Weavers Needle when I was up top, and that was awesome. Four Peaks was shrouded in clouds and I could see some snow up there. I made my way across the little ridgeline and climbed up to the top.
The registry had some familiar names for sure. GMTA as the Goldfields are a wonderful area to hike and explore. After taking a bunch of photos and video, I started thinking about the descent. At the base of the top, there's an area that opens up towards the tuff ridges that make up the hill. I opted to go down this way. I cliffed out a couple times, but was able to take one little tuff ridge all the way down.
A quick and easy hike, loaded with amazing views. |
