Highline work update. We ventured out the day after Christmas to see what the contractor had completed before he went home for Christmas and the rains came. Things were still pretty gooey on the trail but we managed. The walk up FR646 was very pleasant; if someone would fix a few short, blown-out sections the campers would haul fifth-wheels in there.

There’s a slight possibility that the contractor will get another session in this month or next, then things shut down until September for spotted owl season. The Arizona Trail Association has a couple of larger volunteer events scheduled to complete a segment, and we'll organize a few day work sessions to cut through the manzanita.
