FS reported a landslide on the passage so I hiked out in the gorgeous weather early this morning to see what it was all about. Indeed, geology happened, right there on the trail, down the hill east of the big open area a couple miles east of Geronimo TH. Easily a hundred yards of material slide off the embankment across the trail/old road, and knocked a chunk of the road down the hill as well. There's a passable path around the high side of the mound, but the east side is pretty steep. Any meaningful repair will take a machine.

It's always a little something on the AZT.

Strong, fast flow. No dry foot crossing possible and wading it would not be for the faint of heart.
