The project, funded by a State Parks grant and the Arizona Trail Association, removed the trail from a similar distance of two track road. Volunteers cleared brush and limbs on several work events this fall, and machine contractor Cuddy Mountain completed work last week. The new route will appear on the FarOut app soon, but is open for use now. Another work event or two will be scheduled soon to “polish” the trail, dispersing cut vegetation and trimming more limbs.
The nearest access points to the new segment are the Cross F trailhead on the north and Bushnell Tanks trailhead on the south. The new tread would benefit from traffic, so come check it out!
More fine days on the AZT! |
