To work up an appetite for dinner I took a stroll out on the Highline to collect a Trimble GPS track of the new alignments between Geronimo TH and Bray Creek. The efforts on the project are paying off, the new alignments avoid several ditched and rocky sections, replacing them with smooth singletrack. A couple segments replace fall line route with big sweeping turns to lower the grade. The only downside is that those who haven’t seen the “before” will never appreciate the “after.”

There is much more work to come; changes west of Washington Park are progressing nicely, some work near the North Sycamore Creek crossing may have to wait until next season. Work has started east from Bray Creek but will likely be delayed for a season.
