It’s hard to imagine more perfect conditions for trail work—brilliant sunshine, cool temperatures and incredible scenery. Thought to have been long-neglected, tiny well weathered stumps at the base of the bushes indicate past efforts to keep this trail open. This time around though the volunteers are grubbing this nasty plant out by the roots, hopefully forestalling regrowth for several years.
The crews have made good progress but there’s much more to do. Contact (google) “Friends of the Tonto” to get involved and take your outdoor experience to the next level. |
