ATA often works with Eagle Scout candidates seeking suitable projects. Jack Masche of Tempe, AZ Troop 474 completed his project today, Saturday April 8, on AZT Passage 22a, just north of Sunflower. This was at least the third Eagle project on the Arizona Trail by Troop 474. Fifty-two! of Jack’s closest friends and relatives showed up to carve out numerous drains, build a raised platform to stop water damage below a gate, and lay in several rubble dams to check erosion along the trail. Everyone enjoyed the perfect spring weather, Jack’s organizational skills and a great lunch afterward.
