| partners | | We got a late start on this hike but at the higher elevation and the relatively cool temps in Tucson it made for a pleasant hike. We started at the Bog Spring Camp Ground and hiked to Bog Spring then over to Kent Spring. From there we went up a portion of the Four Springs Trail to the ridge for the turn off for Roger Rock. Returned via the Pipeline and Kent Spring.
The trails are all in good condition with the exception of the trail down upper Rodger Rock Ridge. The trail is easy to follow but is very steep and looks to be maintained only by its heavy use. If I remember right from about 4 or 5 years ago I thought this was more of a route but now it looks like it gets a lot of use. Below Roger Rock the trail is a highway. There was a very light flow of water in sections of the creek along the Pipeline and Kent Spring Trail. Bog Spring had water in the trough but there did not appear to be any flow. Kent Spring had water trickle in the creek. No real flower report, appears to be a bad spring. We did hear a Trogan calling out. Two hikers we ran into were looking for them, they too heard them but no sighting. Views over the valley were excellent with high wispy clouds to give photos some depth. |
