| partners | | linda suggested we do @dixieflyer's thompson peak version from adero canyon
got going around 0845
mid 40s, not much breeze, low clouds obscuring the surrounding peaks
my second time hiking from adero
promenade, lower sonoran and sonoran trail were new to me
good trail on the five miles to the road
the ascent featured a short muddy section but overall the footing was good
breezy and foggy at the summit
we took a few photos of the clouds and mountains, then headed down
the descent was better than i remember
took sonoran trail instead of lower sonoran on the return
this was a really nice way to hit thompson peak
can't believe i haven't been up there in eight years 
good suggestion, linda, and good hiking with you again
nice to do a longer hike during the week 
*my second hike with the rei flash 22 pack, which has a large compartment to store all the warm clothes i bring 
there are a few pockets so i don't have to rummage around too much for the little stuff
two water bottle pockets on the outside of the pack |
