Met Jim at the trailhead late morning and then we started up the trail. Took our time on this one, checking out things along the hike. Made the summit late afternoon and then started back down. A fair amount of ice on the summit cone section required very careful walking to avoid slipping off of ledges. Quite cold in the shade at 9000 feet. Took the Super Trail down. Nice to hike Super Trail again, and great to see the new growth of pines and firs since my last hike in 2008. Darkness fell before we reached Josephine Saddle. Nice clear starry sky on the way down. Great hike!
