Shoes got wet and squishy, and that means trouble. I had a couple hot spots when I got into St. Andrews.
Finally here! But also sad to see the end of the hiking journey. It's a bit like the last day going into Santiago de Compostela. When I saw the first views of St. Andrews, it was a bit like Monte de Gozo in Spain when you see the spires of the cathedral. You're the Olympic marathoner, and you're just outside the stadium. The finish line is in sight.
Once you get to St. Andrews, you see all the places you've seen on TV. The 18th green, the R&A, West Sands Beach, the Road Hole, the Swilcan Bridge. And now you're seeing it in person. Where the game started. |
