| no partners | | Wasn’t entirely sure I was going to hike today, but I woke up early enough for this one and it’s right down the road from the cabin I’ve been renting, so I headed out and got to the trailhead around 0800. Easy first couple of miles, then steeper last couple of miles. Most of the hike is in the trees, but the final 3/4 mile or so is clear and has good views.
Quick stop at the summit, then headed back down. Easy descent, but got a little warm for the final mile.
Crossing Grouse Creek was easy, the water was covering the rocks, but not too deep, so I just walked through the water both times and wrung out my socks after each crossing.
Only saw one other person all day, a guy picking huckleberries near the trailhead as I was finishing. Nice day, and probably a hike I would do at least a couple times a year if I lived in the area. |
