| no partners | | Got started around 0900. No warmup on this hike—the uphill starts right away, and it’s more than a mile of switchbacks before somewhat leveling off. Trail is in perfect condition, allowing for easy travel. No real views for the first few miles, but the shade is nice. The upper part of the trail is thick with huckleberries right now, so I slowed down to enjoy a few.
Once at the road, I headed uphill, and found the use trail to the summit. Short and steep, and in rougher shape from the dirtbikes. Nice views from the summit, which I had to myself.
The hike back down was easy and went by quickly. Passed about 15-20 hikers & mtn bikers for the day—I imagine weekends are much busier. A trio I passed on the way up was still on the trail on my way back down; one of the guys had just taken a fall and hurt his arm. A glance at it sort of suggested a broken wrist. He declined any help back to the trailhead, which was less than 1/4 mile away at that point. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated Flowers are just starting, mostly up top where it is sunnier. |
