| no partners | | Yey, I had a good hike. Driving to it I didn't feel like I was going to, but I had a great hike. Clockwise, started with a slight breeze on Ocotillo; though it dissipated but picked up again as I ascended Ridgeback. LOTS of hikers and bikers and even a few horseback riders; could be a song I think  .
And even though I was hiking during an eclipse, I only noticed it for a short time as I finished off the bottom section of Ridgeback; which incidentally, I got up without any real difficulty. I'm a little worried about getting my elevation prowess back let alone a decent hike these days. I took a long time off. However, I think the gym classes and small hood walks help.
I continued to encounter lots of human activity as I made my way on the Sidewinder. I tried to capture some pictures of the sun along the way but nothing too spectacular and certainly nothing eclipsy. I tried to pick up my pace as I made my way over to Apache Vista and once again, had a good ascent. The temperature continued to be nice as I rounded the top and noticed how the green of the trees really stands out in the washes below.
I rounded on down to the TH and did the little loop at the bottom just to add what little I could to the mileage knowing that the temp is heating up again which limits my hiking. Tonto 3 was eagerly awaiting and I quickly opened my first Huck It beer of the fall hiking season  .
