| no partners | | After hiking North Mtn, I drove over to the Shaw Butte trailhead and took trail # 306 up. The trail was very well maintained. There were several walkers, a few joggers, and even someone on a mountain bike. At the top, there were many radio towers enclosed in fences. I needed to take a spur trail to get to the high point. At the high point of the mountain, I found a few painted rocks but no registry, probably because of the volume of the people doing this hike. There was a different spur trail heading Northwest which I took for a while that was simply a loop. Since it was lower than the summit, I turned around at a certain point and hiked back down trail # 306 but this time I took the Southern branch down and back to the trailhead.
Flowers seen: brittlebush, orange globe mallow, yellow poppies, scorpion weed, ocotillo...
