Had no plans to hike Christmas weekend. However, a covid scare annexed me from family gatherings. Quickly started improving so an unplanned hike the next day at least!

Had never combined these 2 peaks into a single hike so away I went. Took a shorter, steeper route than previously up Shaw butte + quickly turned right when nearing the peak to avoid the pavement.

Retraced my steps nearly to the starting point b4 veering off toward N Mtn. Weaved left of the mtn b4 turning onto 101. This brought me back to where people were. Quickly losing light but turned right for the 2nd peak. Timed perf for an amazing

at the top.

Then retraced my steps again since I was now in darkness. Will save a longer loop for when I start a bit earlier. More adventurous possibilities out there than expected
