Meh, some maples are early, some are prime and some are over. The lower canyon looked a bit dry to me with stagnant pools, water was better on up. Signal maple turned at top but not lower. General theme is small maples were red, larger maples were mostly green and some maples had turned and dropped all their little panties. Some nice leaf litter. Color, but you have to work for it.
If you come via San Simon be a little careful on the road, wash boarded had the Toyota dancing a bit. Decided to wear some Salmon Cross Treks, an apparent mistake as I had sore feet and legs at the car. Threw some hokas' in just in case and wore those the next day. Will try with the Salmons' again with different orthotics.
